Project Blaque is a design and art project by Scott Braque, started January 1st, 2022. It is an ongoing body of work that focuses on exploring function and expression within art. The project follows one core rule: create one piece every day.
Each year, a month or multiple months are chosen, and for the duration of those selected months, one new design or artwork is completed every single day until the month’s end. This rhythm of daily making builds discipline, sharpens vision, and allows both instinct and intention to shape the process.
Sadboy Magazine is a subseries within Project Blaque marking posters made on emotionally heavy days. The name reflects the idea of the sad boy as someone emotionally sensitive and introspective. You will find works within the project that have a Sadboy Magazine tag. These pieces serve as a personal outlet and a quiet record of working through difficult feelings through art.
1. Ideation and Conceptualization: This phase involves exploring various ideas and concepts for your project. i can start with brainstorming sessions, mind maps, mood boards, and other ideation techniques to generate a wide range of ideas.
2. Experimentation: Once i have a list of potential ideas, it’s time to experiment with different styles, mediums, and techniques. This could include trying out new software, using different materials, or experimenting with various design elements to create unique and visually appealing artwork.
3. Iteration and Refinement: As i create, it’s important to continually evaluate and refine the ideas. This could involve getting feedback from others, making changes based on my own observations, or iterating on the designs until i arrive at the best possible version.
4. Reflection and Documentation: Throughout the process, it’s essential to document the work and reflect on the progress. This could include keeping a sketchbook, taking photos of the artwork, or writing down thoughts and observations. Reflection can help you identify areas for improvement and refine your approach for future projects
